As a Targeting Analyst, you will have the opportunity to develop targets and target systems for joint lethal and/ or non-lethal engagements. Develop target nominations, creates database records, and produce all-source analytic damage estimates and battle damage assessments that assist with combat assessment requirements. Conduct collateral damage estimation, perform target list management, target strategy development, and provide joint target intelligence support to deliberate and dynamic target engagementsProvide database nominations and create, manage and update, target materials (TM) databases.   Assist in the development of Target System Analysis (TSA) by providing target prioritization recommendations for TSA development. Develop Measurement of Effectiveness (MOE) and Measures of Performance (MOP) Indicators and leverage them to create targeting guidance and objectives. Provide analytic support to senior officials, collectors, and operators throughout the DoD, IC, and federal law enforcement agencies/organizations in support of USCENTCOM J2’s programs, functions, and mission activities.  Produce, support, and review USCENTCOM and DIA-unique product lines to include, but not limited to, Defense Intelligence Digest (DID) articles and notes, Response Memos, Defense Intelligence Tabloids and/or graphics, assessments, and briefings in accordance with the Office of the Director of National Intelligence (ODNI) analytic tradecraft standards. Support the target vetting and validation process; submit collection requests and source directed requirements as well as source evaluations to support target development. Provide recommendations for target prioritization in order to achieve commander objectives for plans and operations. Conduct target planning and writing/editing of OPORD/CONPLAN/OPLAN Annex/Appendix as well as edit and provide input to DoD and CCMD policy to support targeting. Present formal and informal briefings to support USCENTCOM J2’s priorities and be able to defend analytic results to a variety of audiences in support of their mission readiness requirements. Identify intelligence gaps, leverage, and help create collection requirements to fill those information gaps, evaluate intelligence reporting, and identify collection opportunities through collector engagement. Integrate as part of an analytical team, collaborate, and conduct coordination with theater and national-level IC partners.  Have the opportunity to support advanced analytics initiatives, knowledge management projects, and both lead and support projects, that satisfy national-level intelligence priorities.  

 

Required Qualifications:

  • TS/SCI clearance required 

  • Specialized training and 3 years’ experience 

  • An in-depth understanding of the intelligence cycle. 

  • Experience with ODNI’s analytic tradecraft guidance and experience writing to Intelligence Community Directives (ICD’s), specifically ICDs 203, 205, 206, and 208. 

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal oversight and direction. 

  • Demonstrated ability to integrate as part of an analytical team, collaborate, and conduct coordination with national-level IC partners. 

  • Ability to communicate effectively with senior military and civilian government officials, managers, and co-workers. 

  • Experience using the following tools: NGT, TAC, RMT, CRATE and CHROME.
